Teachers are people too; just like our students we learn and grow. We cannot grow if we do not try new things. This page will demonstrate my learning of how differentiated instruction can be accomplished through various means. My original concerns of how you implement such a diverse instructional model in the public school classroom still stands; however, I am beginning to see ways that I can differentiate more than I currently do. As for providing quality curriculum for students, I don't see that curriculum is a key component other than ensuring that you are looking at the essential questions and not just individual skills. Curriculum is what we teach. It isn't differentiated. We are to teach all students the same content. The same BIG IDEAS. It is the way in which we involve our students in the process of learning or understanding the essential question or objective that can be differentiated.
This week I came across this quote in my exploration and study of imagination and feel it is appropriate encouragement for teachers as we continually strive to create a classroom that meets the needs of each student.
