My Wordle for Reflection on Assessment/Instructional StrategiesAssessment is crucial to knowing your learners. Assessment isn’t always a paper-pencil Standards of Learning kind of thing. A true picture of our learners can best be obtained by ongoing assessments by the teacher, student, and peers. Once this evidence is gathered and organized, we begin to see how a student understands the learning goals that have been established. As the learning process continues we can monitor and adjust our instruction to best meet the needs of the student. Assessment shouldn’t be the end of learning. Through this lesson, I’ve gained a clearer picture of how assessment is more of a tool that I can use to tune into my learners. This information can then help me guide them to a deeper or better understanding or learning of concepts and thus sharpen skills that will also expand their learning.
